Jan Weeks freelances as a writer and editor from her home in western Colorado. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including Guideposts, Outdoor Life, Natural Health, California Lawyer, Midwest Fly Fishing, and Angels on Earth.
"I have the most interesting job in the world," Weeks says. "I've critiqued, line edited, and proofread fascinating manuscripts, including a Christian dating guide, a murder mystery, a Vikings-in-America saga, and hundreds of trial transcripts that dealt with everything from child molestation to murder to corporate fraud."
Weeks also loves to teach workshops on writing. How to Write for Magazines; Show, Don't Tell: How Do They Do That?: Basic Grammar for Writers; and Writing Through the Hell of It draw people who want to explore their creativity and make their writing sing. She also facilitates the Colorado West Writers' Workshop, a critique group that's been around for over 20 years.
